Black & Decker Hardware and Home Improvement Group was in Singapore to launch the South East Asian leg of their 2008 World Innovation Tour titled: ‘An Evening Out with Black & Decker’. This event was held in conjunction with its exclusive partner, Equip-Design & Supply Pte Ltd. Gathered at Indochine, the Forbidden City, were many of Equip-Design’s trade customers comprising of architects, interior designers and developers.

The highlight of the evening was the inaugural launch of Kwikset’s innovative SmartSeries^TM of security hardware. This pioneering new platform of innovative security products features the newly launched SmartKey™ technology with BumpGuard™ protection, the innovative SmartScan™ biometric deadbolt and a sneak peek of the next-generation of SmartCode™ keyless entry systems.      

“The SmartSeries line of home security products really empowers the consumer to change the way they think about locks and home security on the whole,” said Jerry Manko, Vice President and General Manager of Black & Decker’s International Hardware and Home Improvement business. “Kwikset is dedicated to developing innovations in lock technology that provide increased levels of security and convenience to our customers, and our new SmartSeries^TM family of products is a true testament to that focus.”

The event provided trade members an opportunity to physically experience the quality and function of the new Kwikset SmartSeries^TM products. In addition, they could interact with the Principal of Black & Decker who was on hand to answer all questions relating to the new platform of Kwikset products. 

On the whole, the event was a success in bringing together members of the trade. Equip-Design will continue to hold such events going forward, as it seeks to build sustainable relationships with its esteemed customers.
